A head injury is any trauma to the scalp, skull, or brain.
The injury may be only a minor bump on the skull or a serious brain injury.

- You may also receive an MRI scan. This can offer a more detailed view of the brain. An MRI scan will usually only be ordered once you’re in stable condition.
